Baker and Soars is the oldest plumbing merchant in Leicester with their origins starting in 1943. At the time of writing Baker and Soars where celebrating their seventieth year as a company. In order to still be around in the next seventy years the management and owners of Baker and Soars recognized that offering their supplies and services digitally was the only way forward; ensuring a future that they would be part of within the field of plumbing in the city.

The already established customer base of the company has helped Baker and Soars stay in a commanding position within their field of trading however they had seen a shift in customer habits with the internet becoming more of a needed requirement for the business.

Originally the owners had considered a simple brochure styled website detailing the company’s position in the marketplace and the premises where trade and public are welcome. With such a vast and varied collection of stock and connections within the field of plumbing it was only natural that they transfer the entire experience of Baker and Soars online. The only logical way to do this was to include ecommerce at the heart of the online experience.

The final website includes a dedicated content management system for the company’s trade counter and showroom. With an e-commerce system in place to sell a wide range of brands and plumbing parts the company already supplies.
